Comprehensive Plant Biology (ISSN 3042-3201) is an international peer reviewed journal published as the official journal of the Institute of Botany and Botanical Garden Jevremovac, i.e. Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. It is the renamed continuation of Botanica Serbica. The journal is edited by an internationally recognized board of plant scientists and it is published exclusively electronically.
Comprehensive Plant Biology publishes original research papers on all aspects of plant and fungal biology. The manuscripts dealing with plant oriented microbiology will also be considered for publication.
Significant records will be considered for invasive, red-listed, rare or long-time underrecorded taxa, changes of taxonomic status, revisions and similar contributions within specialized columns jointly.
Small contributions should be submitted with a maximum two authors per
contribution. The records article is prepared by the column editor(s) and
editor in chef with the aid of contributors. Focus on certain regions of
Europe and adjacent regions will be prepared underunder the titles:
- New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae and fungi in South-eastern Europe and adjacent regions (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and some adjacent regions) (column editors – Marko S. Sabovljevic and Gordana Tomovic, University of Belgrade, Serbia)
- New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae and fungi in Central Europe and adjacent regions(Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czechia and some adjacent regions) (column editor – János Csiky, University of Pécs, Hungary)
- New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae and fungi in western and northern Europe and adjacent regions (France, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Island, Danmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland and some adjacent regions) (column editor – Filip Verloove, Botanical Garden Meise, Belgium)
- New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae and fungi in eastern Europe and adjacent regions (European Russia and some extended areas, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and some adjacent regions) (column editor – Anatoliy A. Khapugin, Tyumen State University and the Mordovia State Nature Reserve and National Park Smolny, Russia)
- New records and noteworthy data of plants, algae and fungi in peri-Mediterranean and adjacent regions (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Libanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Algeria, Morocco, Macaronesia and some adjacent regions) (column editor – Jose Gabriel Segarra Moragues, University of Valencia, Spain).
The articles will be published irregulary upon collection of enough significant contributions. Contribution should be send with authors, affiliations and ORCIDs (obligatory) to cpb@bio.bg.ac.rs with the subject NR PAF
Couple of species records will not be considered as a manuscript if apart from the novel records, additional information and investigation results, do not consider taxon biology and ecology analyses (filed and/or experimental data) and are not fully presented in the manuscript. Peer review process in Comprehensive Plant Biology is double blinded.
The article processing is free of charge for the authors.
